Episode 1: "A soul reaper is born"
"We stand in aw before that which cannot be seen, and we respect with every fiber that which cannot be explained"It starts with a young girl wearing a black kimono. She mumbles about sensing strong spirit energy close by and jumps away. 

A high school boy is beating up a gang of thugs because they knocked over a vase on the side of the road. The vase had been for a young girl that died at that spot. After the thugs run away, the ghost of the girl appears and thanks him. The boy then explains that his name is ichigo Kurosaki and he's fifteen years old. For as long as he can remember he's been able to see ghosts. 

The next morning he encounters a huge beast that is chasing the ghost girl from the day before. They are both about to be devoured, when the girl with the black kimono jumps and cuts the monster in half. She then leaves without saying a word.  

That night, Ichigo is laying in bed, when the same girl enters his room by the window. Ichigo demands who she is, and she is quite surprised that he can see her. The girl then explains that her name is Rukia and she's a soul reaper, a being who sends spirits to either heaven or the under world. She is from the soul society, the place where people go when they die. She says that the beast that attacked before was called a hollow, monsters that feed on the souls of the dearly departed. At that moment, a hollow attacks them, endangering Ichigo's family.

He is about to be killed, when Rukia saves him by slashing at the beast. Rukia explains that the beast is after Ichigo because he has strong spiritual energy. Ichigo faces the beast, because he feels responsoble for his families endangerment. He's about to be killed once again, when Rukia saves him again. She is severely injured and can no longer fight. She then tells Ichigo that if he wants to save his family he must temperarily become a soul reaper. He agrees, but accidentally takes all of Rukia's powers. Ichigo, now a full fledged soul reaper, quickly defeats the hollow.






Episode 2:"A soul Reapers Work"
Ichigo wakes up the next morning to find out that his family remembers nothing from the night before. They just think the gaping hole in their home if from a car crashing into it. 

Ichigo goes to school and is surprised to see Rukia. She is now attending his school disquised as a foreign exchange student. 

Later, she tells Ichigo that she cannot return to the soul society because he took all of her powers. She is now residing inside a fake body called a gegai until she fully regains her powers. She tells Ichigo that he must take over her job until then.  

Later that night, a hollow attacks Ichigo and Rukia while they're in Ichigo's room. He cracks it's mask with his sword and realizes that the hollow is actually Orihime's, a classmate of ichigo's, deceased, older brother. The hollow escapes. Rukia explains that Hollows were once human souls, that transform into beasts when they become lonely. Later, Orihime and her friend are attacked by the hollow that looks like Orihime's brother.



Episode 3:"Younger Sister's Wish, Older Brother's Wish"
Rukia and Ichigo quickly run to Orihime's house to save her from the hollow. On their way, Rukia explains that hollows usually attack a person that they once loved as humans.
 
Meanwhile, Orihime is being attacked by her brother in hollow form. Ichigo manages to save her for the time being, but now he must fight the hollow once again.  The hollow keeps ranting on about how Orihime betrayed him because she stopped praying for him all together and stopped loving him.  Orihime tells him that that's not true because she only stopped praying to show him that she wasn't sad.  She just wanted her brother to be able to go to heaven without worrying about her. Her brother manages to take control of his body for a moment and takes Ichigo's sword. 

He holds it to his chest and says that he has to kill himself or he will end up hurting Orihime again. Ichigo tries to stop him but Rukia holds him back. She says that when a hollow is defeated it doesn't just die, it is rid of all of it's sins and is sent to the soul society. Before he kills himself Orihime recalls the day her brother died.  They had gotten in a fight because he bought her hairpins that made her feel like a kid. That day, she never told him to have a nice day before work. Orihime then looks up at her brother in hollow form and tells him "Have a nice day".  Her brother smiles and disappears as the sword peirces him. That ends the story of Orihime and her brother.




Episode 4:" Cursed Parakeet"
Sado, a friend of Ichigo's, finds a parakeet in a cage.  The bird is rumored to give extreme bad luck to anyone who has it.  Sado, being an animal lover, takes the bird in.  The moment he decides to a beam crashes down on him and his friends. Him being a big guy, Sado saves his friends from the beamer and takes the bird home. 

The next day at school Ichigo and Rukia are talking, when Sado shows up with bandages holding the bird.  Ichigo asks what happened and he says that he was hit by a motorcycle this morning.  The bird says hello to everyone, making them think it can talk quite nicely.  Ichigo senses something different about the bird.  Rukia tells him not to worry because inside the bird is just a lonely spirit that won't turn into a hollow for quite sometime.  She says that they will just have to send the soul to heaven tonight.  Ichigo then explains to Rukia how he met Sado.

  When Ichigo walks in his house a while later it is in utter chaos.  There had been a wreck at the intersection.  Ichigo's sister then brings in Sado,who is  holding the bird,and was also hurt.  He says it was no big deal but has a large wound on his back. Karin seems to be very surprised to see the bird and is very aware of it for some reason.  

The next morning Yuzu notes that Karin hasn't been feeling well.  Ichigo's dad runs in saying Sado has disappeared with the bird.  Ichigo then proceeds to go after him and soon meets Rukia.  They both run after Chad in the bird. 

Meanwhile, the bird is begging Chad to leave him because he will only be hurt.  Chad merely refuses his request.  

While Ichigo and Rukia are still searching for Sado, Karin shows up and collapses from her sickness.  Rukia tells Ichigo to take Karin home and that she will deal with any hollows that attack the bird.  Ichigo tells her to be carefull and runs away.  While he is running, Karin tells him to tell the spirit in the bird that he can see his mother if he goes to heaven.  Apparently, karin had seen the child spirits memories of watching his mother being murdered by a killer.

  Meanwhile, Rukia is attacked by a hollow. She tries to use a Judo on it but she still hasn't recovered her powers yet.  Chad hears a fight and the bird informs that Rukia is being attacked.  He puts the bird on a ledge and goes to help Rukia.






Episode 5:"Beat the Invisible Enemy"
Rukia is being cornered by the hollow while Ichigo is trying to find her.  Right before the hollow is about to eat her, Sado appears and punches it in the face.  Rukia wonders if he can see hollows, but is proved other wise when he starts punching the air around him.  Rukia continues to tell him to run but he refuses.  The hollow gets worried that he can see him so he sprouts wings and flies into the air.  Sado uses unhuman strength to pull a telephone pole out of the ground and swing at the hollow with Rukia's guiding.  The attack doesn't seem to phase the beast and it spits small frogs out of it's mouth. 

The frogs latch onto Rukia and Sado.  Sado manages to free the two of them, though.  Rukia tells him to launch her in the air so she can get a good hit, and Sado reluctantly agrees.  In mid- air the hollow spits out slugs that latch onto Rukia.  He makes a high noise with his tounge and they all blow up on Rukia, injuring her.  Now that Rukia's down, Sado takes his turn to fight the invisible beast.  It seems, though, the hollow has snatched the Bird and is using it as a hostage.  He then goes on about how he will hunt down Rukia and enjoy every minute of it.  Rukia then tells Sado that she will distract the beast while he saves the bird. 

Rukia runs away and the Hollow follows her.  As she runs, Rukia is eventually bleeding very badly from more slugs blowing up on her.  She finally stops in the middle of a sidewalk and the hollow assumes she has given up.  Rukia says that she is actually ready to take him up on his offer to fight.  Ichigo appears and saves Rukia.  He then tells her that she didn't keep her promise about getting hurt.  Rukia remarks that Ichigo actually sounds like he cares for her safety.  He simply replies with "I guess I do".  Rukia releases Ichigo into his soul reaper form and the fight begins.  Ichigo quickly catches on to whats going on between Rukia, Sado, and the hollow.  Ichigo eventually asks the hollow if he killed the boy spirits mother. 

The hollow explains that he was once a serial killer and he killed the boys mother right in front of him.  The boy then tripped him, making him fall off the balcony to his death.  He then said that he lied to the boy and told him if the boy helped him he would bring his mom back to life.  Ichigo is very mad about this and runs towards the hollow.  It spits slugs at him but Ichigo grabs them and shoves them into the hollows mouth.  He mockingly asks the hollow why he's not setting off the leaches with his tounge.  The hollow refuses to so Ichigo rips his tounge out.  He then crushes the hollows head.  A huge gate appears and Rukia explains that it's the gate of the underworld.  She says that if a hollow was bad when it was a human those sins can't be erased and it will be sent to the under world. 

Afterwards, Rukia tells the boy that he can't return to his body but the soul society is a very good place.  Ichigo adds that if he goes to the soul society he can see him mother again.  The boy then peacefully leaves the world.






Episode 6:"Fight to the Death, Ichigo vs Ichigo"
Ichigo goes to bring Rukia breakfast, but she seems to have left without telling him.  

Rukia, meanwhile, enters a small shop.  She seems to know the four familiar people.  Two kids named Ururu and Jinta, a guy named Tessai, and a guy named Uruhara Kisuke.  Rukia tells Uruhara, the owner of the shop, that she needs the special item she ordered.  He gets it for her and she quickly leaves. 

Later at school, Rukia holds out a strange looking pill.  She tells Ichigo that it's a mod soul, a pill that will give his body a temperary spirit when he is fighting hollows.  She then forces him to eat it and Ichigo changes into his soul reaper form.  Rukia drags him away to a new assignment.  The mod soul decides to try out Ichigo's body and dents in a railing.  A teacher runs to scold him but he escapes, jumping across buildings.  He then jumps into Ichigo's classroom and runs into Orihime and tatsuki.  

Elswhere, Ichigo slays a hollow and says he has a very bad feeling about something.  Meanwhile, Ichigo's classmates are very shocked at his ability to jump into their classroom that is many stories from the ground.  The mod soul relishes the praising of his classmate and decides to flirt with the girls.  He first spots Orihime and begins to hit on her.  Tatuski jumps in and yells at Ichigo.  He remarks that she's cute.  

The real Ichigo runs towards school.  Him and Rukia runs into the classroom and sees desks flying all over the place.  It turns out, the mod soul kissed Tatuski on the cheek and she's not very happy.  Rukia yells at the mod soul, telling him that he won't get away with it, making everyone think that Rukia is actually mad because she thinks Ichigo actually kissed another girl( everyone thinks the two are dating).  The mod soul has a few rounds with Ichigo but quickly escapes out the window.  

Elswhere, Rukia and Ichigo seems to have lost the mod soul.  Ichigo asks Rukia what a mod soul is in the first place.  She says that a mod soul is soul that was created by the soul society so it could take over someones body while they're fighting.  She then says that the mod souls were defected and were ordered to be destroyed.  Ichigo notes how cruel the soul society seems.  Ichigo wonders what it would be like to be a mod soul and watch everyone die around you and to wait for death.  

Meanwhile, the mod soul comes upon 3 middle school boys playing a video game.  One boy says that he's erasing one of his characters because it doesn't fight like he wants it to.  the mod soul becomes very angry at this and tries to kill them.  He is stopped by Ichigo, though.





Episode 7:" Greetings From a Stuffed Toy"
Ichigo and the mod soul start to battle it out but must flee when a hollow shows up. 

Later, when the three boys from earlier are cleaning the school yard, a hollow appears.  

Meanwhile, Rukia and Ichigo are searching for the hollow but are unsuccessful.  The mod soul ends up finding it first and saving the three boys.  In the process, though, the mod soul is injured.  Rukia and Ichigo appear and see the mod soul battling the hollow.  The hollow is about to kill the mod soul, when Ichigo saves him.  He scolds the mod soul for injuring his body, and they both defeat the hollow together.  After the excitement, Ichigo notes that it was strange that the mod soul saved the children when he hated them. 

The mod soul answers by saying after he was created all of the mod souls were sentenced to be destroyed.  He said he lived in fear, and thought he sould decide when he dies, not someone else.  Ever since, he didn't like killing, he just wanted to scare the children before.  Uruhara shows up and turns the mod soul back into a little pill.  He then starts to walk away, saying he will have to kill the mod soul.  Ichigo begins to protest, when Rukia grabs the mod soul from Uruhara.  He protests and tells her that she shouldn't keep it. Rukia tells him that  he wouldn't want to take back an item that a customer bought.  She then hands it to Ichigo.  

Later, they go home and decide to put the mod soul in a small stuffed animal.  It works and the mod soul is brought back to life again.  Ichigo names him Kon.  Yuzu comes into the room and Rukia and Kon quickly hide. She tells Ichigo that his friends are here to pick him up.  Ichigo puts on his watch and seems very surprised and bothered about the date for some reason.  

When Ichigo shows up at school, his classmates are surprised by his unusual good mood.  Tatuski says that he's usually like that when he's tense.  Apparantly, Ichigo is going to be skipping school tomorrow for some reason.  Back at home, Ichigo and his family have a meeting about something.  Back in his room, Rukia questions why he is not going to school the next day.  Ichigo answers by asking her if he can have a day off from his soul reaper job tomorrow.  Rukia is opposed by this, until Ichigo tells her that tomorrow is the anniversary of his mother death.  Actually, it's the anniversary of when his mother was killed.  

Later, Orihime wonders about Ichigo's strange mood at school.  Meanwhile, a strange figure is hiding around.  He mumbles about how Rukia has been in the human world for far too long.



Episode 8: "June 17th, Memories in the Rain"
Ichigo and his family are walking up a long set of steps leading to a graveyard.  Ichigo is recalling his mother's death, when Rukia appears at the top of the steps waving happily.  Ichigo's sisters ask who it is and Ichigo answers that he's never seen her before.  He then changes his mind and says that she's a friend from middle school, and he runs and drags her away.  Karin smiles, saying Ichigo is growing up.  This leaves Yuzu very confused. 

Meanwhile, Ichigo and Rukia are talking in the forest.  They are arguing about Rukia being at the graveyard.  Rukia then says that she has been thinking about Ichigo's mother's death and if it was possible that a hollow killed his mother.  This frustrates Ichigo and he tells her that a hollow didn't kill his mother.  He says that the one who killed his mother was him, then he runs away. 

Meanwhile, Orihime asks Tatuski about why Ichigo will be skipping the next day.  Tatuski starts out by saying that Ichigo was always a mamma's boy.  Even when she would beat him in a match of karate and he would cry, when his mom walked in the room he would smile like nothing happened.  Then, a while later, Ichigo's mother died.  He didn't come to school the next day, he just stood at the place where his mother died, waiting for her to show up. 

Later, Rukia is back at the woods sitting on a cliff.  She is thinking about what Ichigo said about him killing his mother.  She is so lost in thought that she doesn't even notice a shadow in the woods watching her.  Kon emerges from her backpack and says Rukia does always talk about hollows.  Rukia finally senses the figure and confronts him.  She finds out that he's actually a soul reaper from the soul society. 

Meanwhile, Ichigo recollects his mother's death.  He remembers the two walking down the road from Karate practice when a car goes by and soaks him.  His mother wipes the water from his face and says that she will stand by the road. Ichigo argues that he should stay by the road so she doesn't get wet.  That's when he sees a little girl standing by a raging river.  He runs towards the river with his mother running after him.  Ichigo tries to grab the girl but she disappears.  Right before he hits the water Ichigo blacks out.  When he wakes up again, his mother is lying on him dead.  Ichigo brings himself back to reality and yells at himself for not being able to protect his mother.  Instead, she ended up protecting him. Now, Yuzu and Karin down't have a mother.  Ichigo drops to his knees in broad daylight, crying.

  Back at his mother's grave, Karin and Yuzu are praying.  Meanwhile, Rukia is still talking to the soul reaper.  He is recalling when she was adopted into the Kuchiki family, and asks her if she remembers him.  Rukia replies that she doesn't, and he answers that he's with the special OPS.  All the while, Kon finds Ichigo and tells him that Rukia is in trouble, which makes him momentarily forget about his grief.  Back with Rukia and the soul reaper, Rukia explains that the reason she couldn't go back to the soul society was because of all the hollows. 

The soul reaper says that she just dresses like that to impress Ichigo then.  Rukia begins to use demon arts but thinks otherwise.  The soul reaper announces that he will take Rukia back by force, and draws his sword.  He goes to attack but is interrupted by Ichigo.  He introduces himself as a substitute soul reaper, against Rukia's desire.  The soul reaper tells Rukia that she has commited a felony by doing that, and attacks Ichigo. Ichigo turns into his soul reaper self and they begin to fight.  He seems to be doing poorly against the soul reaper, when Rukia cuts in with a signal from a hollow. 

She pursuades Ichigo to postpone the fight because his famiy may be in danger. Sure enough, Yuzu has been taken hostage by the hollow.  As they run towards it, Ichigo asks Rukia of what kind of felony she commited. Rukia just tells him  it's as personal as the story about his mother.  He then asks her why she didn't ask about his mother.  Rukia answers that it will only open old wounds if she did, and that when he's ready to talk about it she'll be there to listen. 

Episode 9:"Unbeatable Enemy"
Ichigo arrives at the scene and saves his sister, Yuzu from being eaten from the hollow.  The hollow quickly takes Karin as hostage instead.  The soul reaper that attacked Rukia appears at the scene.  Ichigo notices a figure in front of the hollow, and recognizes it as the girl he tried to save when his mother died.  Ichigo then figures out that the hollow must have been there when his mother died.  The hollow says that he can't remember that far into the past.  The hollow then turns the figure inside out and it turns into some intenea thing sticking from his head.  Rukia explains that the hollow is called a Grand Fisher.  It uses it's intenea to make people think it's a person. 

Then it lures people in and eats them.  The Grand Fisher has evaded soul reapers for over fifty years.  Ichigo attacks the hollow, and at that instance the hollow remembers him.  The hollow wraps itself around Ichigo.  Rukia tries to use an attack but it has little effect.  The hollow announces his plan to eat Karin.    The soul reaper interferes and barely has time to save Karin.  This gives Ichigo the time to escape the hollows grasp. 

The hollow then tries to eat Karin once again, but the soul reaper from before uses himself as a sheild and is injured.  After being questioned, the soul reaper says that they always fight against hollows.  He then proceeds to pass out, supposedly dead.  We soon find out, though, that he is only sleeping.  Kon shows up, in Ichigo's body, and Rukia tells him to take Ichigo's sisters and run.  Rukia offers help to Ichigo but he refuses. 

Ichigo continues to fight the hollow, but it's just to fast for him.  The hollow taunts Ichigo, and he remembers how he cause his family pain for not having a mother around.  He then remembers what the soul reaper said about fighting hollows, and decides that he wants to protect his sisters at all costs.  Ichigo attacks again and is actually fast enough to get past the hollows defense.  The hollow peirces him with tenticles, though.  Now, Ichigo is unable to stand.  The hollow teases him for his impulsive attacks.  Ichigo is still refusing Rukia's help.  The hollow places his hand over his figures face and it suddenly turns into Ichigo's mother's face. 

The hollow says that everyone has one person that they just can't kill, and that person for Ichigo is his mother.  Rukia has a flashback of someone telling her about fighting.  He says that there are two kinds of fights.  One kind is to fight for human life and another kind is to fight for pride.  Rukia decides that Ichigo is fighitng for his pride and she must not interfere.  She then proceeds to pray that Ichigo will be ok.  The other soul reaper wakes up and tries to make his way to Ichigo and the others.  Meanwhile, the hollow continues to mock Ichigo and he attacks again.  He quickly stops, though, because the figure that looks like his mother jumps in the way. 

This gives the hollow an opening to injure Ichigo's shoulder.  Ichigo is now unable to do anything at all.  The hollow begins to attack again but a peircing light emits from the figure.  It's actually his mother's dying wish.  She tells Ichigo to be strong, to be kind, and to smile.  She thanks him and disappears with the puppet.  Ichigo then says how the hollow is wrong and that he can defeat it.  The scene changes to Orihime.  She is thinking about how she can relate to Ichigo because her brother died.  We go back to the battle and see that Ichigo has finally manages to injure the hollow severely.  The hollow then flees from the scene. 

Ichigo yells towards the hollow and collapses on Rukia.  She lays his head on her lap as he rants about the battle not being over until he can kill the hollow.  Rukia then thanks him for not dying as he blacks out.  the soul reaper that attacked Rukia then announces that he's leaving for the soul society.  He says that he will make up a reason for not bringing Rukia back. 

Everything seems to go back to normal and Ichigo is finally able to visit his mother's grave.  He apoligizes for not being able to avenge her death.  His dad says as long as Ichigo is alright his mother will rest in peace.  He then pulls out a cigarrette.  Ichigo says that he thought he quit smoking. 

His dad answers that the only complement Ichigo's mother gave him was that he looked cool when he smoked.  Now, every year he comes to her grave and smokes a cigarrette.  Ichigo then demands why no one blames him for his mothers death.  His dad says that if he blamed Ichigo his wife would get really mad at him. 

He then says that it was no ones fault, his wife was just the kind of women that would die for her children.  To break the tension, his dad hits him and begins to walk away.  He leaves with one final saying.  He says, live well, grow well, grow bald well, and then die with a smile on his face.  Ichigo then tells Ruka, who is behind a tree, to let him keep fighting as a soul reaper so he can protect the ones he loves.  Rukia just smiles in response.

Episode 10:"Assault on Trip at Sacred Grounds"
Ichigo walks in his classroom and is greeted by Orihime.  She crosses her arms and makes a strange buahaha noise.  Ichigo is slightly startled by this. He later finds out that the famous Japanese Tv show is coming to his town and everyone is really excited about it.  Orihime invites him to go but Tatsuki pulls her away and says that she is going with her instead. Ichigo's friend Asano lectures him about not wanting to go, saying that he already invited Rukia. Rukia, standing behind them smiles shyly.  Ichigo is very annoyed by her acting. 

The scene changes to Ichigo standing, annoyed, in a crowd of people at the live show.  Orihime then approaches and apoligizes for earlier, because she had no clue he didn't like ghost shows.  She then asks him why he came even though he doesn't like them. He answers that his dad and sisters like it so he came along.  Orihime then leaves with Tatsuki. 

Rukia appears and asks Ichigo what's wrong, doing the same Buahahaha laugh.  Ichigo scowls at her for going along with everyone else.  She answers by saying that Ichigo must be exhausted from all of the fighting and that he should take a break and have fun. They both get into a discussion about soul reapers and hollows.  She explains that if there is a ghost in the abandoned hospital that they're at, it's most likley and earth bound soul.  Earth bound souls are weak souls that are stuck at the place that he have emotional attachments to. 

A cameraman steps on the hospital grounds and a loud groan fills the air.  It is the earth bound soul.  Rukia explains that earth bound souls are harmless until they turn into hollows.  The lights dim for the show, and Rukia tells Ichigo not to worry about it because it takes months for an earth bound spirit to become a hollow.  She says that the only way the process could be sped up is for someone to peirce the hole in it's chest.  Don Kanonji, the ghost hunter, suddenly sticks his cane into the spirits hole in it's chest.  Ichigo towards him, demanding him to stop.  Rukia also runs after him but they are both tackled by security. 

The chain on the spirit then breaks.  Uruhara shows up and turns Ichigo into a full fledged soul reaper.  Now, invisible to everyone, he runs to protect Don Kanonji.  The spirit disappears and reappears on the rough as a full fledged hollow.  Ichigo continues to save Don Kanonji from the hollow.  They both soon disappear into the hospital, Ichigo dragging Don kanonji.  Don insists that he can't run away from the hollow because millions of viewers are watching him.  ichigo then explains that they had to get away so they could keep the people out of danger.  The hollow appears, spitting a sort of gew at Ichigo.  It then drags him onto the roof and continues to spirt stuff at him. 

It manages to hit him and stick him to the roof.  Ichigo is about to be killed by the hollow, when he is saved by Don Kanonji.  Don declares that he also has some power.  He charges a small energy blast, that slowly approaches Ichigo.  This part is very comical.  It touches the gew and frees Ichigo.  The hollow then breaks Kanonji's stick and throws him onto the ground.  He then rambles on about how his duty is over. 

Ichigo, seeing his opening, runs foward and with one stroke defeats the hollow.  The hollow disappears, and it turns back into an earth bound spirit.  Don kanonji is very confused, because he thought he had defeated that spirit. Ichigo explained that he had just quickened the transformation.  This leaves Kanonji feeling terrible, saying that he didn't know what he was doing all along.  Ichigo tells him to go to his cheering crowd, and they both shake hands. Kanonji tells him that he is his number 1 pupil. This does not flatter Ichigo at all.

Episode 11:"The Legendary Quincy"
An angry teacher, holding a TV remote yells at Ichigo, Rukia, Orihime, Tatsuki, Chad, and a few other friends of Ichigo's.  He plays a video on a tv that shows Ichigo and Rukia being tackled by the body guards on the last episode.  He says that the two have discraced their school. Tatuski argues that her and Orihime had nothing to to with it and they are allowed to leave.  Rukia then bursts into fake tears, and tells the teacher that it's all her fault because she couldn't stop Ichigo.  While the teacher is momentarily distracted, the others are able to escape.  Rukia then escapes when the teacher looks towards where the others were. 

The escapees are walking through the school grounds and talking about how Rukia saved them.  Ichigo then begins to argue that she was trying to sell him out.  At that moment, Rukia's hollow detector goes off and they both run away, saying that they had something they needed to do. Orihime then ponders if the two are dating.  Asano answers that Ichigo may like Rukia but Rukia would never like Ichigo.  Chad notices a shadow in a window watching them. 

Meanwhile, Rukia and Ichigo arrive at the place where a hollow was supposed to be. Instead, they find a soul hovering in a corner.  It says that someone defeated the hollow but they're not sure who.  They then send the spirit to the soul society. Above, a strange figure watches them. 

Later, everyone are reading the results of an important test. Asano freaks out because Ichigo is in the top fifty of the class.  He says that Ichigo betrayed there rule of staying below the top fifty.  This goes on for a while. Meanwhile, Rukia is mad because Uruhara won't answer his phone.  The hollow detector then beeps and she runs to find Ichigo.  She drags him away from everyone.  The group determines that they must be dating.  As they are running down the hall, Ichigo accidently bumps into a student.  After he apoligizes the student quietly walks away. 

Ichigo and Rukia appear at the sight where there is supposed to be a hollow.  There isn't one, though. Ichigo tells Rukia that she should get her hollow detector fixed.  Suddenly, the same student that Ichigo had bumped into in the hallway appears.  He is wearing a white outfit with a cross on it.  He greets Rukia and Ichigo by name and tells them he knows that Ichigo is a soul reaper.  The boy senses a hollow and quickly turns to the location, without even using a hollow detector. 

Suddenly a bow and arrow made out of blue energy appears in his hand and he quickly defeats it.  Ichigo demands that he tell him who he is.  He answers that his name is Uryuu Ishida and that he is a Quincy. He then says that he hates soul reapers, which means he hates Ichigo. 

The next day at school, Ichigo is trying to recall his name.  Orihime shows up and asks if he is talking about Uryuu Ishida.  She then tells him that he is in the home handy crafts room.  They both go and see the boy reparing a stuffed anime.  Ichigo is very suprised by this.  Orihime asks him if something happened between the two and Ichigo answers that it's nothing while walking away.  Orihime's happy expression turns sad.

Later, Ishida is walking home on a flight of steps.  He then suddenly asks if Ichigo is going to continue following him. Ichigo appears at the bottom of the stairs and says that he is impressed that he was able to sense him.  Ishida says that he has noticed ichigo for quite sometime,even when him and Orihime were spying on him.  He says that it's easy to detect him because he lets his spirit energy leak out foolishly.  He then says that Ichigo doesn't have the ability to sense high spirit energy because he hadn't noticed Ishida until he revealed himself.  He continues to explain that he knows Ichigo got his soul reaper powers in may and that rukia is actually a soul reaper. 

Suddenly, Long strands of cloth appear around Ishida.  Ichigo recognizes them as spirit threads.  Ishida explains that a soul reapers spirit thread is the color red, unlike the others.  Ishida then tells Ichigo that they should have a duel.  Ichigo says that there is no reason for them to compete, because he has nothing to do with him hating soul reapers.  Ishida teases him by saying that he is too afraid to become a soul reaper without Rukia's permission. 

Meanwhile, Rukia is at Uruhara's and asks him a question about Quincys.  He explains that Quincy's are beings with spritual powers that once hunted hollows.  They didn't send the hollows to the soul society, though, because they believed that hollows didn't deserve remorse.  The soul reapers didn't like the fact that they were just destroyig hollows, so they decided to wipe out the quincys.  The only remaining Quincy left is Ishida. Meanwhile, Ichigo decides to accept Ishida's battle proposal. He turns into a soul reaper and the battle begins.

Episode 12:"Gentle Right Arm"
Ichigo and Ishida face eachother.  Ishida pulls a small tablet out of his pocket.  He explains that it's hollow bait and will attract a lot of hollows.  Whoever defeats the most hollows will win.  Ichigo argues that the idea is stupid, because he will be endangering many inoccent lives.  Ishida replies that, that won't happen because he will destroy every hollow that arrives.  He scatters the tablet into many peices and throws them in the air.  A black hole suddenly appears and a hollow comes out.  Ishida quickly destroys it with an arrow and says "One down".  Ichigo angrily grabs Ishida by his shirt and demands that he stop the hollows from coming.  He answers that he can't do that ,because the hollow bait is already scattered around.  He then says that the hollows will attack highly spirited people. Ichigo realizes that is family might be in danger and quickly runs off.  Ishida remarks that his family isn't the only ones with high spirit energy.  He looks up in the sky and recalls an image of an elderly man. 

The scene changes to Tatuski sitting against a wall at school.  She is taking a break from practicing Karate.  She seems very annoyed by two ghosts around her.  This shows that she can actually see them.  Her instructor calls her back and she quickly gets up, only to run into Orihime who has a strange look on her face.  Tatuski recalls her memories of when the hollow attacked(around episode 3).  She can only remember a few scenes, mainly of Rukia Kuchiki standing in the room with them, which automatically makes her think she was dreaming.  She tells this to Orihime and is suprised to find out that she had, had the same dream too.  A sudden crash catches their attention and they run to check it out.  Orihime suddenly senses someing ominou in the air. 

The scene changes to Karin, who is playing baseball.  She too senses something ominous.  Ichigo is still running through town searching for his sisters, destroying hollows as he goes.  Meanwhile, Ishida is on a bride destroying hollows.  He counts to number ten. 

At that same time, Rukia is in Uruhara's shop.  Her hollow detector is going wild with signals, when she suddenly hears a hollow cry.  She runs outside to see a black slit in the sky. 

Meanwhile, Chad and his friend are walking through town when a hollow suddenly appears.  It appears to be after Chad.  He runs towards a deserted area.  Chad show up at the place where Karin and her friends are playing baseball.  She asks him why he's there when he suddenly grabs her and dodges a blow.  They both use teamwork to dodge the hollow, when Chad is hit and knocked out.  Karin's friends then show up and she pushes on out of the way to save him.  Chad has a memory of his grandfather and asks him for strength.  He then wakes up and manages to finally see the beast.  He attacks it and there is an explosion.  When the smoke clears Chad has a new arm.  It's large and bulky now.  He then destroys the hollow and collapses. 

Later, Orihime is helping clean up the mess that the explosion caused when she sees an ominous shadow above.

Bleach Episode 13:"Flower and Hollow"
Tatuski, orihime, and another girl are cleaning up the mess that some boys supposedly made. Tatuski notices Orihime gazing in the sky( she is looking at a shadow of a hollow).  She tells the others that she has a TV show she wants to watch, and she pushes them along.  She remembers the hollow she had just seen moments ago, while urging her friends along.  She tells herself not to be afraid and to get everyone out of danger.  Tatuski escapes from her grip and says that she has to go change from her karate suit.  The hollow has now disappeared from Orihime's view.  She yells after her friend, worried that she is heading into the direction of the hollow.  Suddnely, the hollow appears behind Orihime and says "you can see me can't you?." 

Meanwhile, Ishida and Ichigo are fighting hollows.  Ishida is positive that he is going to win.  Back at the school, Chizuru( the other girl with Orihime and Tatsuki) notices that Orihime looks worried, but can''t see the hollow behind her.  The hollow shoots pods from it's head and breaks more windows.  One of the pods hits Chizuru on the shoulder.  Orihime runs to her rescue.  Chizuru is acting kind of weird when she suddenly grabs Orihime and lifts her in the air.  The pod has taken over her arm.  Orihime demands the hollow to tell her whats going on.  The Hollow answers that it can control people with it's pods.  The hollow has now taken control of many students. 

Tatsuki shows up and beats up many of the classmates.  Orihime realizes that Tatuski can see hollows to some extreme.  Tatuski warns the hollow that whoever messes with Orihime will have to deal with her.  Tatuski is suddenly grabbed from behind by Chizuru.  The hollow moves in front of her and teases her for being captured.  In return, Tatuski bites one of its tenticles.  The angry hollow hits Tatuski with some pods.  Orihime runs to her aid but is hit in the gut by Tatuski.  She is now under control!  Orihime drops to her knees and remembers something. 

When she was younger her brother used to compliment her long hair, but people at school teased her about it.  She decided to cut it to her brother's disappointment.  After that, she still didn't make any friends.  Until one day Tatuski invited her to walk home with her. Since that incident, Orihime new that she wouldn't have to cut her hair again.  Back in present time Orihime grabs her friends hand and thanks her for being there for her.  Tears began to stream down Tatuski's eyes while Orihime hugged her.  "This time, I'll protect you," she says. 

Suddenly, Orihime's hair band dispersses into peices and she is ingulfed in a ring of smoke.  She says that she won't forgive anyone that hurts tatuski.  A group of small fairy looking figures appear around her.  The hollow can't figure out what Orihime's powers are.  Orihime notices the fairies and they tell her that they have always been with her.  They introduce themselves by saying they are the six flowers of the Hibiscus Shield, born to protect her. 

Orihime watches them in shock.  She is the only one who can see them.  The hollow appears in front of her once again and they tell Orihime not to worry.  One of them tells her to recite a certain summon.  The Hollow spits out more pods and Orihime repeats the words.  A barrier appears in front of her, reflecting the attack.  Orihim mumbles another sentence and two of the fairies begin to heal Tatuski.  She says yet another sentence and the faires destroy the hollow. 

Orihime passes out from exhaustion.  Uruhara shows up, his partner Tessai carrying the passed out chad over his shoulder.  Elsewhere, Karin shows up at the baseball field to find that Chad disappeared.  Orihime and Chad wake up in a strange room.  Uruhara walks in at that moment.  Meanwhile, Ichigo and Ishida are still battling hollows.  Ishida notes that there are many hollows, even for hollow bait.  He thinks that there is a stronger force drawing them. 

Meanwhile, Rukia is running through town searching for Ichigo.  She is attacked by a hollow and is saved by, who she thought at first was Ichigo.  It turns out it is actually Kon.  Ishida shows up and talks to Rukia.  He says that he won't let anyone die and then destroys the hollow that attacked Rukia.  Back with Orihime and Chad, Uruhara explains to them about everything that has happened with Ichigo and Rukia. 

They are not sure wether to believe him or not, but Uruhara says that they don't have to believe him if they don't want to.  Uruhara walks towards the door of the house and tells the two that he can show them What's beyond the door.  Back with Ishida, he is about to destroy a hollow when Ichigo steps in and defeats it instead.  They both smile at eachother.


Episode 14:"Back to Back a Fight to the Death
Ishida and Ichigo are in the middle of a contest on who can defeat the most hollows.  Ichigo searches for Ishida and finally finds him.  He tells him that the battle is no longer between them and the hollows, it's just a personal battle between the two.

Kon, in Ichigo's body, notices a large crack in the sky.  Ishida says that, that is where the hollows are gathering.  Ishida runs off towards the hollow, yelling that he is the last Quincy.  Ichigo is very confused about his, and Rukia explains that the Quincys were wiped out two hundred years ago.  A flashback shows Uruhara explaining to Rukia what had happened.  She now relays the message to Ichigo. The quincys had started destroying hollows instead of purifying them so they had to be wiped out. 

Ichigo thinks this is why Ishida is fighting like this so he runs to confront him about it.  Ishida explains that, that is not the reason he is fighting.  The real reason is that he witnessed his grandfather die right before his eyes. His grandfather tried to help the Soul Reaper   but they had refused him everytime.  Until one day he grandfather was attacked by five hollows.  The Soul Reapers didn't make it in time and his grandfather died.  Ishida now fights to prove how strong a Quincy is.

Ichigo replies by kicking Ishida in the head.  He says that his grandfather didn't want to prove the Quincy strength to the Soul Reaper, he just wanted to join powers with them. As they continue fighting Ichigo explains that his mother was also killed by hollows.  He is fighting now so that other familys won't have to deal with the pain of losing a loved one.They look up and see a giant hollow in the hole in the sky. Uruhara and his gang shows up and says that they will deal with the small fry hollows so Ichigo and Ishida can deal with the large one. 

Rukia explains that it's called a Menos Grande, and it's created from thousands of small hollows.  Rukia runs to stop Ichigo because she thinks the Hollow is too strong for him.  Uruhara puts her in a binding spell and tells her that it is nessecary for Ichigo to defeat it himself. Ishida and Ichigo attack but they are both thrown back. Ishida touches Ichigo's sword and his bow and arrow made from spirit energy suddenly grows larger. 

It seems that Ichigo's spirit energy is flowing into it. Ishida tells him to control his spirit energy and flow it into his bow and arrow.  Ichigo has no idea how to do this, though, and says that he thought his spirit energy was always at it's fullest.  Chad and Orihime are watching from a distance. The Menos Grande send a large blast of red light towards them.  Ichigo runs forward and stops it with his Zanpakutou. He somehow manages to make his spirit energy grow a lot and reflect the attack.  It injures the Menos Grande and sends it back into the hole. 

The hole then disappears. Ishida notes that Ichigo's spiritual power was never at it's fullest.  Ichigo then collapses from exhaustion. Ichigo's spirit energy is now pouring out of his body, and if they don't do anything about it now then he could die.  Ishida steps in and flows his spirit energy into hims.  He apolizises to his grandfather for saving a Soul Reaper.  Ichigo notes that he could never defeat an opponent with such a sad face like Ishida's.

Episode 15:"Kon's Great Plan"
Ruka is laying in Ichigo's closet, thinking about the previous event with the menos grande.  She worries about how the news will surely reach the soul society.

That morning, Kon, dressed in a dress and flower pin, wakes Ichigo up angrily.  He complains about Ichigo's sister dressing him up.  Ichigo just replies that Yuzu probably felt sorry for his dirtiness. Ichigo then realizes the time and runs off for breakfast, stepping on Kon on his way. Kon wonders why he is treated so badly and decides that he will go on a journey to find someone that will treat him better.

Ichigo walks in his room and knocks on his closet door, telling Rukia that it's time to leave.  Rukia does not answer at first so he says it again.  Finally, she opens the closet door and says, quite annoyed, that she heard him the first time.  This makes Ichigo worry a bit and he asks her what is wrong.  She answers back that there is nothing wrong.  She is just a little tired from the previous event. She then jumps out the window. 

Meanwhile, Kon sees a few of Ichigo's female classmates and decides to lay in the road, in hopes that they will pick him up. The younger classmate runs to pick him up but the older one stops her.  She notes that Kon is a dirty toy and steps on him.  He makes an ooff noise, causing the girl to stop. Kon decides that it is time ro run and flees down the road. The older girl notes that she is a part of the track team and runs after him at the same speed.  Kon cries that he just wants to be treated nicely.

Meanwhile, Rukia is walking to school when Orihime spots her.  Rukia greets her normally and asks why she is up so early.  Orihime explains that she is usually late but is to excited to sleep since summer break is coming up. Shen then asks Rukia if she has any plans for the summer.  Rukia answers that she does not. Orihime says that they all planned to go to a fire works festival in August and invites her and Ichigo to come along.  She starts talking about how it will be like the sacred grounds trip.  Rukia notes that that was a very hectic event.  Orihime answers that Ichigo has a really nice side because he went for his family.  Rukia says that she thought Orihime was afraid of Ichigo at first.  Orihime says that he actually has a funny face if you look closely.  Rukia just laughs and says that she will think about going. 

Elsewhere, a Black cat is standing on a telephone pole.  It jumps down and disappears.  Meanwhile, Orihime and some other people are playing baseball.  Kon is watching her from a tree.  He says that he will play a helpless stuffed animal so Orihime will pick him up and hug him.  He jumps from the tree only be get stuck to the ball that is being thrown.  Orihime hits the ball with her bat and sends Kon flying.

Meanwhile, Ichigo and Chad are picking up soccer balls from a field.  Ichigo is staring into space.  Keigo runs up and jumps on Ichigo's back, asking him what he is looking at.  He then comes to the conclusion that Ichigo is watching Orihime.  Ichigo tells him to stop fantasizing. Keigo answers that they are regular, heathly teen boys.  Mizuru throws a ball at Keigo and tells him to help pick up.  He then notes that Ishida has not been at school lately.  Keigo answers that he was Ishida in the park running around, acting like he was fighting something.  Ichigo is glad how stupid Keigo is.  Rukia is watching them walk back from a school window with a sad expression. 

Later, Ishida walks into the classroom with bandages on his arms and hands.  He tells them that he had fallen down the stairs.  He sits down and the teacher continues her lecture. Ichigo glances at him. Rukia whispers to him not to think about it because he got those wounds on his own accord.  Ichigo answers by saying "Why should I be worried?"  Rukia muses over this and says that she never said he was worried. 

Lunchtime comes and Ichigo decides to ask Ishida if he wants to eat with them.  He refuses at first but eventually accepts. 

Meanwhile, Rukia is sitting in the tree.  She is thinking about the soul reaper that had come to get her earlier.  She thinks about how she doesn't have much time left in the human world.  Her thoughts are interrupted by a group of girls that ask her to eat lunch with them. 

Meanwhile, at the Uruhara shop Ururu and Jinta are cleaning.A black cat shows up and they go and tell Uruhara, who runs out and greets it happily.  Tessai explains that the cat is the bosses best friend. Jinta finds it pathetic that his best friend is a cat. 

Meanwhile, Ichigo and the others are eating lunch together silently.  Chad eventually shows up and sits with them.  Ishida asks Ichigo if he invited him because he felt bad for his wounds.  Ichigo answers that he just invited him because he felt like it.  They get into an arguement and the others note that they act a lot alike.

Elsewhere, the girls are all in a circle eating.  Orihime pulls out a large cake and one of them note that the only reason she is so slim is because it all goes to her chest.  One of the girls suddenly turns to Rukia and asks her if she has the hots for Ichigo.  This causes Rukia to spit her drink out. Another girl lectures her and tells her that she's too straight forward.  Michiru, one of the girls, notes that Ichigo's face is scary. Orihime adds that it's actually quite funny.  They wait for Rukia's answer.  She replies that her and Ichigo are only friends.  They talk a little.  Orihime tells Rukia that they should eat one of her dishes together soon and Rukia replies that she will think about it.  Orihime scowls and says that Rukia always answers by saying she will think about it.  Rukia tells herself that she does not belong there.

Elsewhere, Kon shows up at Uruhara's place.  He plans to use one of his experiments to punish Ichigo.  Yoruichi, the cat, spots him and Kon says that even though they are both a part of the cat family he is the higher ranking one.  Yoruichi silently walks off.  Jinta and Ururu spots Kon also and begins to torture him. 

Meanwhile, in the classroom alone, Rukia cleans out her desk and puts everything in her bag.  Sighing, she gets up and leaves.  Rukia meets up with Ichigo and strangely asks him if he is feeling ok.  Ichigo answers that he feels fine.  Ichigo then thinks, from Rukia's words, that another Menos Grande could be coming.  Rukia explains that Menos Grande don't show up that often.  Ichigo then asks Rukia if something is wrong, because she has been acting strange lately. 

Rukia is about to explain something, when Kon runs up crying, saying that he was wrong for running away and that he belongs with Ichigo. When Kon says that he wants to go back home Rukia answers by saying "Go back..huh.  Ichigo then asks again if something is wrong.  Rukia lies and says that Kon has become very attached to him.  Ichigo answers by saying that he is dirty and that they will bring him to Ishida.  They later do, but Ishida refuses.  Ichigo says that it's probably because he can't with his wounds.  Ishida gets angry and quickly does it, putting a dress on Kon.  This upsets Kon again.

The black cat from before is standing outside Uruhara's shop, watching the evening sky. Uruhara walks out and asks the cat( calling it Yoruichi) if it is checking the sky for rain. The cat suddenly talks, saying that Uruhara can quit with the act. Yoruichi then says that they both know what's coming."The two of them are already here," she says. Uruhara answers by asking if Yoruichi wants to talk about it before or after she drinks her milk.

Later, Ichigo walks in his bedroom with some food. He calls to Rukia, saying that he has her dinner. Noticing she's gone he curses, asking why she always disappears around dinner time. Ichigo walks away, not noticing a letter lying on his desk saying,"Thank you for everything."

The scene changes to Rukia standing outside the house wearing her backpack. She turns and runs away down the street.Two male soulreapers appear in the sky above. The red haired one mumbles something and says," Is this for real? I didn't think we'd find her in a gigai." It then shows him watching Rukia through his sun glasses. He then says," Rukia Kuchiki, yes, we've finally found you." He then removes his sunglasses, smiling.

Episode 16:"Abarai Renji, Encounter"
Rukia is running down the street. She remembers back to when she first met Ichigo. "Hand me your blade, soulreaper," he had said. Rukia answered by telling him her name was Rukia Kuchiki. She then remembers to when one of her classmates asked her if she had a crush on Ichigo. Her memory then changes to when she first entered Ichigo's school. "I'll be sitting next to you from now on," she had told him. Rukia then remembers various memories of her and Ichigo together.

Finally, she remembers back to herself laughing with the other girls in class at lunch. If I'm going to leave here one day, she thinks as she's running down the road. All of these memories will only be a burden. Compassion, friendship, and affection. She thinks back to when she told the girls that Ichigo and her are just friends. They're a nuissence. All of these feelings aren't neccesary to a Soulreaper. They are unbecoming of me, she thinks. I've remained in this world for far too long. It's time to move on. Suddenly, she hears a man yell out "yea!" really loud. Rukia stops in shock. "Finally get it, don't you?" Rukia looks up to see the man standing on a telephone pole.

He pulls out his sword."But you know, I've really got to hand it to you," he says. "I'm really impressed. "By staying in this world you've managed to prolonge what little life you have left, Rukia." Rukia is still staring at him in shock. "Renji," she mumbles. "What in the world are you doing here?" Renji jumps from the telephone pole, slashing at Rukia with his sword, barely missing. "So you're telling me that you had two hunters from the soul society behind you, but you were so lost in thought that you didn't even notice," he says.

"I'll grant you that you've spent the last few months in that gigai, but still, don't you think you've groan just a little too relaxed? Spit it out, Rukia. So, where is the human that took all of your powers away from you? Rukia makes a noise of annoyance. "What are you talking about?" she asks. "Just because I'm inside of a gigai right now that doesn't mean I've lost any of my powers. And anyways, why would you even think it was a human that took that power? Renji answers her by saying "It was a human."  Rukia makes a small noise of suprise.  "It's obvious, just look at you," he says."Otherwise, you wouldn't have that stupid human expression on your face."

Rukia's eyes suddenly widen in suprise. "You're a runt from the rukon district like me," he continues," And yet, you were taken in by the noble house of Kuchiki. They put a lot of time and money into making you the perfect Soulreaper. One of the elite. Huh? Am I wrong? You're the great Rukia Kuchiki, aren't you? Gaping like some worthless human. What is wrong with you?"  Rose pedals suddenly appear in the sky."Right, Captain Kuchiki?" he says.

A dark figure suddenly walks behind Rukia. She is still turned, her eyes even wider with shock. She turns around, seeing another male soulreaper."Byakuya, it's you, brother," she says.  He answers by saying her name. Renji approaches Rukia from behind, holding his sword out. Rukia dodges a blow, Renji's sword cutting her cheek. "Passing your soulreaper powers to a human is a great sin," he says, walking up to her. "Be glad the higher ups were compassionate, and let us handle this. Instead of the execution squad. Now, tell us where this human is, Rukia. It's over, we're taking you in. And then we're going to find the human who stole your powers and kill him.Don't even try to protect him. You know what happened. The only reason you were able to dodge my attacks were because I let you dodge them. The next move I make with this blade will be fatal.

Renji slowly advances towards Rukia as she backs away. Byakuya watches from behind. Renji holds his sword out as Rukia readies herself. He slashes at her again but she jumps in the air, dodging. He then slashes at her while she's in the air, sending her rolling onto the ground. She manages to gain her footing again. Rukia grabs her shoulder in pain and falls to her knees. "This is it," Renji says, advancing on her. He holds his sword in the air. Suddenly, a flash of light flys past his head.

"Two armed men attacking a deffenseless young girl," Uryuu says, emerging from the shadows. "I have to tell you, it's not a pretty sight. I don't know, it just isn't my style. You know what I mean?" Renji is clearly annoyed. "Alright kid, you can see us," he says. "So tell me, who the heck are you?" Uryuu adjusts his glasses. "Just a classmate," he answers.  "Classmate, huh?" Renji mumbles.

"One who hates soulreapers," Uryuu adds. Rukia stands up. "Uryuu, Ishida, what are you doing here?" Rukia asks.  "Just passing by, nothing for you to worry about," he answers. "But if you must know, I had a sudden urge to go to sunflower seeds, a sewing store." Uryuu holds up a grocery bag. So I happened to go on a stroll this evening and came upon your party. I mean, come on, it's not like I sensed the presense of soulreapers and ran out with a bag to have as an excuse or anything."

That's the worst lie I've ever heard, Rukia thinks. He's not that stupid.  "Although, I understand if you are skeptical," Uryuu says. A sudden slash cuts Uryuu's bag from his hand.  "Hey, I just asked you a question," Renji says. "I said, who are you, kid? Hey, that's fine, you dont have to answer if you don't want to." He holds his sword out. "We can just skip ahead to the part where I kill you." Rukia runs in front of Uryuu. "Just wait a minute, Renji, he has nothing to do with this," he says.

"What are you talking about?" Uryuu asks.  "I already gave you an answer. As I've already told you, I'm a classmate of Rukia's. And, I hate soulreapers."  Renji answers by saying"Well I don't care much for your answer, so why dont you try again?"  Uryuu lowers his head a bit in annoyance. "Uryuu Ishida, it's a pleasure," he says.  "Huh? what's with you all of a sudden?" Renji asks.

"Well, I just thought you had a right to know. You may be a soulreaper, but you should know the name of the one that's about to kill you," Uryuu says. Renji laughs quietly. "That settles it, I'm going to cut you in half," Renji answers.

Meanwhile, Ichigo is back at the house. He is standing in the bathroom. "When does Rukia plan on coming home tonight?" He mumbles. "I mean, it's already two in the morning. Oh well, it's not so bad. At least I can get a break from the soulreaper business tonight." Ichigo suddenly hears mumbling from behind the toilet. "Okay, what's that noise?" he mumbles jumping back. he looks behind the toilet, seeing Kon taped to it. "Kon, just what exactly are you doing back here?" he asks. "I thought you were taking a little trip."

The scene changes to Kon in Ichigo's room. "Man, thanks for the solid," he says. "You totally saved my butt." Ichigo holds his nose because Kon stinks. "Don't mension it," he says. " I couldn't even see who was coming in tied up like that. I was trying to figure out if it was you or not and the only thing I could go on was sound." Ichigo sprays him with refresher so he would stop stinking. "Why'd you do that for!?" he demanded. "Is that how you treat your bestfriend after he's been throught he worst suffering of his life."

"Shut up, we're not bestfriends and you stink," Ichigo answers.  "Hey, it's not my fault, Rukia was the one-" Kon stops in mid sentence. "Oh my god, that's right, Ichigo! Rukia's in trouble!"  Ichigo throws Kon. "Get out of my face," he says. Kon lands on the desk and points to a note. "Look at this right here, are you telling me you've been home all this time and you didn't notice this,pal?" he demands.  "Yea, so what is it?" Ichigo asks. "What's the matter with you?" Kon asks. "It's obviously a fairwell note."

"A fairwell note?" Ichigo questions. "So, then what were you doing goofing around in the bathroom? Shouldn't you have already hit the road?"  Kon is suprised by this. "What!?" he demands. "Are you even awake? I'm not the one who wrote the letter, Rukia did you fat head! After that whole incident with the dress I decided to come back here to say goodbye to her before I hit the road. And it wasn't with my tail between my legs. I just thought it was the honorable thing to do. So, I decided I would hop in. "Rukia?" He had called jumping in the window. "You see, Rukia, she's left us. She's left us for good."

"What do you mean?" Ichigo demands. "She left without even telling me where she was going?"  Kon get's angry. "Shut up! How should I know!? I was right here with her when she decided. She just up and left here without even offering us the slightest explanation. Who cares about you?" Ichigo stares at the letter. "Just what is this, dang, Rukia, just what are you thinking?" He opens the letter and reads," Enjoy decoding." He tries to read it but it's all messed up. "What is this?" he demands, frustrated. "Son of a, what's with all of the B's in this? And what's up with the bunny?" There was a picture of a bunny on the note. "Oh, I get it, lose the b's."  Ichigo once again reads through the letter. For certain reasons, I must go, It read. Do not look for me, and do not worry. After you read this, be sure to burn it. And also, if you can, keep yourself hidden for a while. "I don't get it," Ichigo mumbles. "I mean, she doesn't give a reason for leaving."

"Don't you understand?" Kon said. "Something must have happened. She said to burn the letter and keep ourselves hidden. What could be this terrible that it's got Rukia this worried about us? Isn't it obvious? There's something going on between her and the soul society. Use your head a little, Rukia's in the middle of something that she doesn't want us involved in. So she's, she's struck out on her own. Oh,Rukia, what if shes...dead."

"That's enough!" Ichigo says. "We can't just go jumping to conlusions, let's think about it. All of the yammering isn't gonna help us solve anything.  "Ichigo?" Kon mumbles. "Let's go, Kon," Ichigo says. "I'm changing into a reaper to find Rukia." Kon stands up. "All right, I'm with you, buddy! Uh..do you mean again?"  Ichigo turns to him. "I don't have much of a choice. I've got to get the bead out of your belly." Kon starts running. "No, no wait!" Kon says. Ichigo grabs for him, but he dodges. Ichigo finally grabs him. "Come one, I don't have time for this!" Ichigo says. "Rukia's in danger, and I can't do anything to help her unless I'm a soulreaper." They start struggling.  "Hey there," A voice says. Ichigo turns around to see Uruhara. "Boy, it looks to me that you're in a bit of a bind this evening." Uruhara is sitting in the window. "Is there anything I can do to help you speed things along here?"

The scene changes to an expression of terror on Rukia's face. Uryuu falls to the ground in pain. "Well, well it looks like you were nothing but talk," Renji says. Renji's strong, even stronger than before, Rukia thinks. I can barely movie, let alone stop him. "Now then, let's finish this. Remember this as you depart this world. Renji Abarai is the name of the man who killed you." Rukia steps forward a little. "Hold on!" she demands. Suddenly, the ground underneath Renji explodes from pressure. He jumps back. "So, who are you?" He demands, looking at Ichigo.  "The name is Ichigo," Ichigo answers. "The man who's going to beat you. How's it going?"

"Wearing soulreaper clothing," Renji mumbled. "I don't know you, what squad are you from? Heh, check ot that overgrown Zanpakutou."   Ichigo places his sword over his head and rests it on his shoulders. "Oh yea, so you're saying I've got a big one? It's funny because I've been thinking that this thing looked kind of big next to Rukia's blade. But I've got to say, up until now I haven't had anything else to compare it to" Renji stares, silent for a moment. "The size of it reflects a soulreapers spirit energy," he says. "How did a snot nose little brat get a sword that size? Is he for real?"  Ichigo you fool, Rukia thinks, stepping forward once. Why did you come? 

"Oh, I get it," Renji says, glancing at Rukia. "You're the lowly human who stole Rukia's powers, carrot top." He jumps from a fence and slashes at ichigo. Ichigo blocks him as he continues to hit at him. "What's wrong?" Renji demands. "Is your big sword just a joke?" Ichigo slashes at him and he quickly dodges. Ichigo suddenly drops to his knees, a wound appearing on his shoulder. "Ichigo!" Rukia yells, beginning to run towards him. Uryuu grabs her leg. "Don't go," he mumbles.  "it's over," Renjin says, standing behind Ichigo. "Once I kill you Rukia will get her powers back. And then, Rukia will go back to the soul society to die."  Ichigo grunts in suprise. "Man, you are as dumb as they come," Renji says. "Rukia came out here on her own, just so you didn't have to get involved. You should have stayed put at home. But you had to come play the hero. Just what did you think you could accomplish here?"

"You're not a reaper you're a fake. There's no way you could hurt a real soulreaper. You couldn't even land a scratch on one of us." Ichigo suddenly slashes at Renji, scratching his face. "Sorry about that," Ichigo says. "I know you were in the middle of saying something. But, you left yourself so wide open there that I jut couldn't help myself. I apologize, why don't you continue. You were saying something about a scratch." Renji touched the scratch on his chin. "You punk," he says.

"You let your gaurd down, Renji," Byakuya says.  "Captain Kuchiki," Renji says in suprise. "This young man here, Ichigo Kurosaki," Byakuya begins. "I believe I've seen you before. There was a report from the secret remote squad. He dealt the Menos Grande quite a serious blow ad forced it back to where it came from." Renji laughs. "Youve got to be kidding me," he says. "Man, the secret remote squad must really be slipping these days. This kid wounded a Menos Grande? Who in the right mind would believe that load of crap? I mean, look at him, Captain. And that Zanpakutou, it's nothing but an overgrown peice of junk. He obviously can't control his spirit energy. So tell me, what is the name of that Monstrasity?"

"Huh? What's it's name?" Ichigo asks, confused.  "You didn't even ask, did you?" Renji demands.  "What, you mean Rukia?" Ichigo asks. "What, are you guys telling me you name your swords?"  Renji smiles. "I knew it. You can't even ask your Zanpakutou it's name. And you really think that you can fight me as an equal? Come back in two thousand years!" Renji runs his hand across his sword and it suddenly changes into what looks like a spine. "Roar, Zabimaru!" He says. "Now, open your eyes. See what lyes before you and fall upon your prey." He slashes at Ichigo and cuts into his shoulder. Ichigo drops his Zanpakutou.

Renji laughs and slowly pulls the sword out, making ichigo stunned with pain. "Its all over you little runt," Renji says. "You've lost to Renji Abarai and will die where you stand. Rukia gasps in concern for Ichigo. Everything tur:ns to slow motion. Renji slashes his sword towards Ichigo once agan. Byakuya watches quietly. Ichigo is still stunned in pain. Rukia watches in sheer terror. Ichigo falls to his knees after the second blow hits him.


Episode 17:"Ichigo Dies!"
This episode starts out with Renji telling Ichigo that he can never beat him if he doesn't even know his own zanpakutou's name. Renji then transforms his sword into something that looks like a spine.He then inflicts a blow on Ichigo's shoulder. Ichigo falls to his knees and Renji readies for the finishing blow. "Sorry it's ending this way, kid," he says, swinging his sword around. "But that's whats known as a difference in strength. That's because a zanpakutou can change it's size and shape in response to the weilders spirit energy. How do you like my spirit energy?"

Ichigo's face is pained and shocked."Well, there you go, kid, it's time for me to head out. I don't like the way the air smells here." Rukia is staring in horror. Now Ichigo knows that there is a difference in their strength, Rukia thinks. It's made him realize he has no chance of winning, and so he's backing down. That was my hope, but Ichigo will never give up. I know that. Renji readies his sword for the attack. "Ready?" He asks. Ichigo, if you can save yourself then run, please! Rukia thinks. "No answer, heh?" Renji says. Renji runs at Ichigo, rukia running towards them. "Run, Ichigo, move!" Rukia yells. Rukia grabs Renji's shoulder and jumps on his back, restraining him. "What are you doing, Rukia?" Renji demands. "Let go of me. Are you trying to make things worse for yourself, fool?"

"Ichigo, get out of here!" Rukia yells. "Hurry, you've got to, go! Get moving!"  Ichigo slowly grabs his sword. "But, this can't be," Renji mumbles. "You shouldn't have the strength left to movie." He easily pushes Rukia off of himself. "This'll work out just fine," he says. "Ive been thinking that it would be a shame to finish off someone who couldn't move anymore."  Ichigo stands up, grunting in pain. "I guess the only thing for you to do is to fight hard and die," Renji says, resting his sword on his shoulder.

"Run, you must save yourself," Rukia begs, a pleading edge to her voice. "I'm begging you, run. Huh?" Ichigo's head was down. Suddenly wind began to pick up around him. "What's wrong?" Renji asked. "If you wont attack then I will!" Renji holds his sword out to attack. Ichigo's head is still down. His sword begins to suddenly glow a faint blue. Suddenly, the wind picks up even more, debree being thrown into the air. His spiritual pressure is increasing, Renji thinks. Impossible.  Ichigo looks up, rage in his eyes. He jumps forward, cutting Renji. "What the heck?!" Renji exclaims, turning to counter him. Ichigo runs at him with quick speed. Renji is thrown into the air. He manages to catch himself on some railing. His glasses fall off, blood on his face. Ichigo is now smiling. He was ready to die just a minute ago, Renji thinks. Where did he get this new found power.

"Heh, I'll tell you exactly what's wrong," Ichigo smiles. "It's just that you moves have become a lot slower." Renji stares in frustration. Idiot, actually you've gotten faster, Renji thinks."I don't understand what's happening to me, but I like it," Ichigo says. "I feel no pain for my wounds. In fact, I feel totally invinsible." Renji stands back up. "Why you?" He says. "Zabimaru, time for you to roar!" He slashes at Ichigo. Ichigo easily dodges once, the second time blocking his attack. Ichigo runs forward and slashes at him, Renji barely dodging. Rukia watches in shock.

Renji's being over powered, incredible, she thinks. Byakuya watches quietly. Ichigo jumps at Renji again, but he dodges. Ichigo seems to be enjoying himself. Renji falls to his knees. "You're awfully good at dodging my sword," Ichigo says. What's happening? Renji thinks. How much higher can his spirit energy go? "But all of that's about to end," Ichigo says. Ichigo jumps at him again. Renji is paralyzed by his spirit energy. Byakuya still watches quietly. Not enough time! Renji thinks in panic. 

Ichigo thrusts his sword down. Smoke blew into to air. When it cleared Ichigo was standing in front of Renji, half of his sword blade missing. What? He thinks. My Zanpakutou. Ichigo looks up at Renji, who is staring at Ichigo in shock. But he didn't do anything, Ichigo thinks. He turns around to look at Byakuya, who is standing quite a distance away. Was it him? he wonders.Impossible, it couldn't have from that distance. He looked down to see Ichigo's missing blade in Byakuya's hand. Ichigo gasps in shock. Byakuya grabs his sword hilt.  Is he coming? Ichigo thinks, readying himself. Byakuya suddenly appears beside Ichigo and glides past him.  Blood flys from a wound that Ichigo had no clue how he got. What just happened? he thinks, slowly falling to the ground. Did he cut me?

What's more, if he did, I can't tell if he hit me from the back or front. It hurts.  "You're slow," Byakuya says, standing by Ichigo, who is still falling towards the ground. "Even when you are falling."  Rukia suddenly finds her voice. "Brother don't do it!" she yells. He eyes widen even more in shock as Byakuya inflicts another blow on Ichigo. Ichigo falls to the ground, apparently unconcious. Renji watches from behind in shock. It's been a while since I've seen it, he thinks. But he's was truly awsome. I better pay more attention. I barely even saw his second attack coming. But his first one. I couldn't even tell when he drew his sword. Let alone, when he put it back. But one things for sure, if I couldn't see it coming, I'm absolutely sure that this kid doesn't have the slightest idea of what just happened to him.

Regardless of that, there is still the matter of his extraordinary spirit pressure that he demonstrated earlier. "What's the matter, Renji?" Byakuya asks.  "Huh, I really didn't need your help defeating this kid, Captain," Renji answers. "There was no reason for you to interfere. I could have handles this myself." Byakuya closes his eys, amused. "Come now, Renji," he says. "Even I will get rusty if all I ever do is watch. Do you agree?" No, this kids different, Renji thinks. He must be...."Ichigo!" Rukia yells, cutting through Renji's thoughts. Rukia runs towards Ichigo."No!" she gasps. "No, don't!" Renji yells, running after her. He grabs her by the neck and slams her against a light pole.

"Renji, let go, let me go!" Rukia demands, grabbing his hand. "What does it matter now, you fool?" Renji growls. "The kids already dead." Rukia looks over at Ichigo lying on the ground. "Listen, if you so much as touch him they will add twenty years to your sentence," Renji explains. "Besides, Rukia, you would only end up increasing your sins for somone whose died." Rukia looks down in guilt."I got him involved in all of this," she says, more calmed. "It's my fault that Ichigo's dead! So what the hecks wrong with me going to him!?" Renji falters in shock. Byakuya beside Ichigo once again. "So, even if it would make your sentence harsher, you truly feel that you must help him? Is that what you are saying to me?" Rukia looks at her brother. "I am, brother," she says.

"I understand, Rukia," Byakuya answers."This young man does indeed bare a striking resemblence to him."  Rukia winses as if he had slapped her. She lets out small noises of helplessness. The blood from Ichigo's wound is now pouring out even farther. Ichigo suddenly grabs Byakuya's leg. "He's dead, you say?" Ichigo mumbles, raising his head. "Bares a striking resemblence to him? I'd rather that you quit talking about me like I'm not even here, got it?" Rukia smiles in relief. "Ichi-" she suddenly stops."Let go," Byakuya casually demands. "Sorry, I couldn't hear you," Ichigo answers. "Try looking at me when you talk." This kid is still able to move? Renji thinks. But that's impossible.  "I see, it looks like you won't be needing that arm," Byakuya says. Rukia makes a small huffing noise and runs towards the two. She kicks Ichigo's hand away from Byakuya. Ichigo's eyes widen with shock.

"Rukia,what are you doing?" Ichigo asks.  "You are just a human," Rukia mumbles, her head turned from him. She suddenly remembers the times they had together once again. Each memory flashing in her head but quickly vanishing."You are just a lowly human, how dare you grab my brother like that." She turned towards him. "You better learn your place!" We should leave here now, brother. The actions that Ichigo just took have opened my eyes to the truth. I am ready now, take me back to the soul society. It is time that I atone for my sins."  Ichigo's eyes plead as he begins to speak. "You can't leave now,'" he sas. "Our work isn't finished.....Rukia." Renji slammed his foot on Ichigo's head. "You don't know when to give up, do you?" he asked. "Listen, the more you move around the quicker you're going to find yourself dead."

"I see no need to inflict a final blow upon him now," Rukia says. "Leave him be. Soon enough he will die on his own. We should go now, brother." Rukia turns and begins to walk away. "Wait, Rukia! Stop, look at me! Is this some kind of a joke!?" Ichigo demands. Rukia stops in her place. "Hey." Ichigo begins to try and get up. "Don't move!" Rukia yells, loudly.  Ichigo stops, shocked. "Take even one step, or try to come after me..l'll..I'll.....I will never ever forgive you." She turned her head towards him. Tears clearly visible in her eyes as they trembled. "You're going to die, so why not stay put and live a few seconds longer." A pleading tone could be heard in her voice. She turned again and began walking away.

"Alright," Byakuya began. "I will not inflict a finishing blow. With my two attacks against him I have shattered both his soul chain and his soul sweep. There is no point in finishing him off. He should die in less than an hour." Byakuya's words shot through Rukia like ice. She trembled, holding back tears. "Even if he does survive this attack, all of his powers will be lost," he continues. "Both his soul reaper powers as well as his spirit energy. Renji.." Renji quickly stands up. "Yes," he mumbles. He holds his sword out in front of hm and turns it like a key. A large door suddenly appears. It opens and a strong light leaks out. Renji walks through it, disappearing. Byakuya walks through next. Rukia follows, but at a much slower pace. Ichigo watches as she heads towards the door. Rain poured down his face, covering up any possible tears.

I can't speak, he thinks calmly. A more desperate tone enters his voice. I can't move. Rukia slightly turns her head towards him as the door closes behind her. It disappears. I was protected,again, he thinks, clenchig his fist. Rukia... The rain pelted even harder. Ichigo slammed his fist onto the ground, water flying up. Familar sandels walk out of the shadows. Ichigo doesn't seem to notice. It hurts, he thinks. My body feels heavy. It's cold.  He looks up to see Uruhara standing over him with an umbrella.


Ichigo blacks out, only feel himself floating in darkness. It doesn't hurt, he thinks. Oh no, am I about to die? I probably don't feel pain because I'm on the verge of death. But, is that right? At first my body was so cold. But now, I feel warmth. It's warm. Ichigo opens his eyes to see Uruhara's shopkeeper on top of him. He screams in suprise. "Oh, what a good reaction," the shopkeeper says. "Quite excellent."  Ichigo pushes his face away. "What the heck are you doing?"  The shopkeeper turned his head. "Boss, you wanted me to let you know the moment Ichigo woke up, well he's awake."

"Wait a minute, you work for mr. Hat and Clogs don't you? Why are you under the covers with me? Get off!" He throws the guy off, including the cover. This reveals that Ichigo had bandages on his chest and shoulder. He grunts in pain, grabbing his left shoulder. Hey, I'm not dead, he thinks.Why not? What's more, this isn't my house. Where am I? Uruhara walks in the door. "Ichigo, you need to just relax," he says. "We were barely able to patch you up." He walks in front of him. "If you move around too much you will die." Ichigo stared, expressionless. "Is that so," he says. "So, Mr. Hat and Clogs, I take it this is your house?" Uruhara closed a fan that he had, had out. "Uh huh," he nods. Ichigo holds his shoulder, an angry expression on his face. "Are you the one who saved me? Huh?"

"It seems to me by the underlining of your voice that maybe you didn't want me to rescue you," Uruhara answers. Ichigo grunts in answer, looking down. An image of Rukia turned away from him as he lye on the ground flashed in his head. "Wait, so what happened to Uryuu? I remember that he was there with me, helping me out. So, is he alive?"  Uruhara began to speak. "I treated Uryuu at the site, but then he went home. He actually did lose a considerable amount of blood, but his wounds weren't as serious as yours. Even if he had just layed there for a couple of days, he wouldn't have died. So, after I cleaned and dressed his wounds, he went home.When he left he was worried about you." Ichigo looked confused.

"Uryuu was worried?" he said. "No way."  Uruhara looked up. "I asked him if he would consider staying here a while so he could regain his strength" Uruhara thought back to the incident.  "Thanks, I appreciate the offer," Uryuu had said, "But really, I'm fine. Please, just take care of Ichigo. Because it is apparent that if anyone can defeat those guys it is certainly not me. The only one who can save Rukia...his voice suddenly changed to Uruhara talking to Ichigo. "Is you," he finished. "So he said."  The image of Rukia walking through the door flashed into Ichigo's head. "Only me?" he said. "What the heck can I do!? Don't you understand!? Rukia has gone back to the soul society! So just how do I go after her!? How am I supposed to save her!? It can't be done." Once again, an image of Rukia walking through the door flashed in his head. "I can't do it!"

"Do you really believe that?" Uruhara asked. Ichigo looked up in suprise. "There is a way into the soul society," he continued. Ichigo sat in shock. "There's a way?" he asked. He quickly jumped to his feet. "How? Tell me!" He demanded. "How do I get there?"  Uruhara was silent for a moment. "Of course, I'll tell you," he said. "But on one condition."  "What's that?" Ichigo asked.  "For the next ten days you will study with me and train how to fight properly." Ichigo stepped forward. "Study?" he mumbled. "You want me to waste time training with you? I don't have that kind of time, okay? Rukia is gone and she can be executed at any second. So we've got to get to the soul society as soon as we can!" Uruhara adjusted his hat.

"What don't you understand?" he asked. "Huh?" He put the end of his cane to Ichigo's head and pushed him onto the floor. "Don't act so dumb. If you try to go there now you will die. You think you can beat them. You honestly think you are ready to fight them. I went ahead and let you try fighting them in order to prove a point. I figured that you would understand results better than words. I thought you would learn a lesson. With the amount of strength you have now, you won't be able to do anything when you get the soul society. Right now, you're weak.Entering the soul society now is like entering the lions den. So, you want to save Rukia. Don't make me laugh. If you get yourself killed there will be no one to blame." Uruhara steps away from Ichigo and crosses the room. "The soul society usually has a one month waiting period before an execution. Usually they respect their own rules. Lets hope that's the case with Rukia's execution."

"Let's hope?" Ichigo demands. "It's all together different than the way humans are executed," Uruhara explains. "So, that gives me about ten days to torture you. Then seven days to open the gate to the soul society. Then we'll have thirteen days when we get there to get the job done. So, we've got lots of time." Ichigo still couldn't get the image of Rukia walking into the door out of his head. He puts his head down. "Will I become strong enough in ten days?" he asks. "Yes, so long as you wish to save Rukia from the bottom of your heart," he answers.

Ichigo's eyes suddenly begin to tremble. "Your will must be stronger than steel," Uruhara says. "We must abandon any doubts that you have. Ten days, to prepare for a game of life and death."  Ichigo scratches his head in annoyance. "Do I really have a choice?" he asks. Uruhara smiles in return. Rukia walking away into a blue background flashes in Ichigo's head. I feel as though the rain has finally stopped, Ichigo thinks. The black cat who had appeared at the doorway narrowed it's eyes and meowed.
